Higher Education Governance (Scotland) Bill

GUSRC highlights concerns with the Higher Education Governance (Scotland) Bill to the Scottish Government

The Higher Education Governance (Scotland) Bill has been progressing through the Scottish Parliament since last summer. GUSRC responded to the consultation phase and you can find our response here: Consultation on proposed HE Governance Bill. The Bill has now been considered by the Scottish Parliament Education and Culture Committee which supports the bill in principle. Unfortunately the Scottish Government still fails to explain how the role of Rector at the University of Glasgow will be protected and how student interests will be advance as a result of this Bill.

The Cabinet Secretary wrote to GUSRC President in December 2015 and you can find our reply to that letter here: Letter to the Cabinet Secretary for Education and Lifelong Learning – January 2016
