About

The Glasgow University Remote and Rural Medicine Society is a society which seeks to promote and educate on health in rural communities.

We aim to inspire and sustain an interest in rural healthcare among our fellow students. The society also supports healthcare students in organising placements and learning opportunities in rural areas in Scotland and abroad and showcases the work of students that have attended these placements.

Each year the society hosts a national conference for students from the UK where speakers discuss opportunities in health care, promoting good community care and networking and career opportunities for students and doctors. Conferences are held in the highlands and islands of Scotland and provide education and activities in the local area.
