SRC Wins – Library to launch 24/7 opening hours pilot

In partnership with the Library, we are pleased to announce this manifesto promise by our VP Education, Hannah-May Todd, just in time for the December Exam diet

The SRC is proud to be the first to announce, in association with the Glasgow University Library, that 24 hour library access is being piloted over the December exam diet from the 27th of November to the 15th of December. This pilot will include all floors of the library!

Hannah Todd, the SRC’s VP Education stated: ‘As this was one of my manifesto goals, I’m delighted we are piloting 24 hour access. This will make learning accessible to all, regardless of what hours students prefer to study at due to jobs, child care responsibility’s (etc).  It will also give the option for students to be flexible and study when they feel most comfortable. Considering the extra PGT students the university has this year, I think it’s great the university and the library are pro-actively looking to try new solutions to the overcrowding problem. Working with the library is a joy as they constantly want to try new things’

We will be closely monitoring feedback to see if this is something that will positively enhance the student experience.

Throughout the period, we would love to hear what you think about this, be it on twitter or facebook, use the hashtag #GUlib247 to let us know!
