Rector nominations open!
The Rector of the University of Glasgow is elected by the registered students of the University and the main role of the Rector is to represent the University’s students.
Glasgow is lucky to be one of only five universities to have a Rector. The Rector has a number of key duties representing students. He/She is expected to attend meetings of Court, the governing body of the University, to work closely with the SRC, and to bring student concerns to the attention of the University’s managers.
Nominations for Rector must be submitted to the University Senate Office the 3rd March 2017. Details of the nomination procedure can be found on the Senate Office website: Rectorial Election 2017 Nominations.
Voting will be open between 9am on Monday 20th – 5pm Tuesday the 21st March, voting in the election for rector will be open. Voting takes place online. You simply need your University login details and an internet connection. The link for voting will be widely advertised as soon as polls open. The result of the election will be announced 5/5:30pm in Bute Hall (Gilbert Scott Building).
