The Glasgow University Sport and Exercise Medicine Society is a new society formed in September 2015.

It aims to develop interest in the specialty of Sport and Exercise Medicine, and educate students in different components of this field through various talks from experts. There will also be a number of socials, with a sporting slant of course! Running through all this will be the promotion of the many benefits Sport and Exercise brings to the individual and local communities.

Glasgow is a great base for such a society with the legacy of the 2014 Commonwealth Games, and many a famous sporting team such as the Glasgow Warriors RFC, Rangers and Celtic football clubs, and Glasgow Rocks Pro Basketball to name but a few. The city is also home to the National Stadium Sports Medicine Centre at Hampden Park, providing an unrivalled service for Sport health and injury in Scotland.

Although mainly aimed at medical students, anybody is welcome to attend. If there are any questions please email gusportsmedsoc@gmail.com.
