Being a PhD can be difficult and challenging which is why we have come together to set up a platform for PGRs across the university – to socialise, provide development opportunities, improve our overall wellbeing and to give us a voice. We’d love to have you on board and join our activities. These are our areas of focus:

Community: create and support opportunities to foster community among all PGRs, but also between us and the local community in Glasgow

Research: provide opportunities for peer-support and informal research development

Empowerment: foster a sense of solidarity and empowerment among PGRs as a group and stand up for our needs/rights

Wellbeing: fight common problems among PGRs, e.g. loneliness and increased stress, and provide peer-support for wellbeing issues.

Career: help prepare students for future careers within and outwith academia through networking opportunities and training events.

These areas are still being developed and you can help shape them! If you want to get involved on the organising side or if you just fancy coming along to a social to meet like-minded PhDs – join us in giving PGRs a voice and a platform.
