The Maclaurin society (or MacSoc) is the university’s Maths and Stats society, aptly named after famous Scottish Mathematician- Colin Maclaurin. Since the 1950’s we have been organising and hosting both academic and social events on campus. Our events range from fancy dress pub crawls to Information and recruitment nights with potential employers like Morgan Stanley and the Institute of Mathematics(IMA). We aim to help you on your educational and career paths as well as give you a fun and informal way to meet people with similar interests. We also offer the Maths drop in help room sessions for second year maths students which is an opportunity to ask questions on your courses in an informal setting. As a society we aim to create a friendly and supportive atmosphere for everyone!
