The Glasgow University Indian Society is a voluntary, non-profit purely student-led organisation. It serves to promote the extravagantly rich Indian culture and heritage and promulgate the essence of India within Glasgow to build and sustain a community.

The society is the brainchild of enthusiastic University of Glasgow students who wanted to embrace the resplendent culture of India. The society also aims to include people who are interested in Indian culture to explore the same. They aim to metamorphose the organisation of Indian festivals here at Glasgow and if need be, collaborate with other societies to celebrate the diversity and openness of Indian culture.

The society aims to endorse the intricate beauties of the diverse Indian culture amongst people from all ethnic backgrounds. It strives to highlight the growth of India and its influence in the political, economic and social arenas at a global level and inculcate a feeling of pride, patriotism and affection for India and Indians within the University. Nonetheless, the society aims to campaign for several social issues and organize several debates and discussions forums to deliberate upon social and political issues currently in India.

The society aims to organise several events in a year, ranging from festival celebrations, cultural evenings, fundraising and charity events, Bollywood club nights, social activities and educational events.
