Glasgow University Civil Engineers is a new society founded by current Civil Engineering students at the University of Glasgow, in celebration of the 200th anniversary of the Institution of Civil Engineers.

The society is open to anyone who has undertaken the Civil Engineering degree program at the University of Glasgow. In addition to this, we encourage any students who are interested in the role of civil engineers within society or have a general interest in the subject to also get involved. We are keen to connect undergraduate, postgraduate, alumni and staff at the university in order to promote and celebrate civil engineering at Glasgow.

Our purpose can be split into three distinct categories: connecting students in different year groups, collaborating with industry and promoting civil engineering as a career choice. The society aims to carry out social activities, introduce a buddying programme and help organise and participate in STEM activities in order to facilitate these aims. Over the course of the academic year, we also host guest lectures, organise networking events and site visits to strengthen industry links with civil engineering firms in Glasgow.

If you want to get in contact with the society please don’t hesitate to contact us on our email – eng-guce@glasgow.ac.uk – or feel free to message us on Facebook/LinkedIn/Instagram. We would be happy to help with any enquiries as well as arranging membership or collaboration.
