Ballroom and Latin Dancing Society

Have you ever wanted to dance like people on strictly? Then now you can! Come learn from an ex-professional teacher (who beat some Strictly pros in real life!) and student teachers who have numerous accolades!

Glasgow University Ballroom and Latin Dancing Society is open for all who wish to learn Ballroom and Latin dance. We teach 6 dances which are rotated every week, which include: Cha-Cha, Rumba, Jive, Waltz, Quickstep and Viennese Waltz. Our classes run twice a week on a Monday and Wednesday. Over the year we offer classes to beginners, improvers and those who have previous dance experience. We have a one hour class every week with an ex-professional teacher and regular classes where we simulate a competition. We also have open practice spaces available.

For those of you who are interested, we have a dancesport team who travel to competitions on the university circuit, no previous dance experience is required to compete so please don’t be scared as we always have good fun and you won’t be alone!

As a predominately student society we enjoy having fun outside of classes, this includes drinking socials at a local bar, a ball each semester where you can show off everything you’ve learned over the year and we hope to put on different events open to the public.
