This book is commissioned by Glasgow University Students’ Representative Council, the SRC, as a way of introducing you to everything you might encounter in your first year as a student. It contains information and advice on everything from choosing courses to the best live music venues; from where to pick up fruit and veg to where to look for your first post-halls at. To check it out, see The Guide page.
We are currently recruiting a Communications Intern. We are looking for a good communicator to provide internal and external communications support for the organisation to ensure we actively communicate and promote our activities, campaigns and services to the student population and other key stakeholders. Your strengths will be your ability to communicate effectively to different audiences, your creativity, flexibility, and good organisational skills. You will be social media savvy and a motivated self-starter. Your attention to detail will be excellent and you will be passionate about your work.
Are you coming to study in Glasgow this September and too far from the city to check out potential private let accommodation? The Students' Representative Council has a service designed to help you make more of an informed choice about properties that are safe and properly managed.
We, the four elected Sabbatical Officers - President, VP Education, VP Student Support and VP Student Activities – represent your views across the University on a number of high-level committees.
Looking for a summer volunteering opportunity in the local area? Private Accommodation Viewing Service (PAVS) is an SRC service that runs each year to help prevent international students from being defrauded out of deposits for non-existent properties, or from having to live in dangerous or unpleasant accommodation.
This year, we have worked hard to provide you with study spaces across campus during this incredibly busy time. Here are the study spaces available until 19th May. Every day, different spaces will be published on the University snapchat (uofglasgow). Good luck in your exams everyone!
The University of Glasgow's student-led campaign aimed at taking breaks, stress relief and looking after yourself during exams. Drop-in events every weekday lunchtime, stall on Level 3 of the Library every Monday & Friday and free stress packs.
Got a few weeks free at the end of summer? Want to meet some amazing people and help new students? Then why not think of applying to be a Freshers’ Helper!
We at the SRC are keen to gather some information about the experiences of students who are also parents. This will assist us in developing a 'Parents' Policy' with the University.
