What Do We Do?
Do you ever feel like you are stuck in the “west end bubble"? Are you tired of reading negative press stories about students, think that you could use your time at Glasgow to do something positive and enhance your employability skills?
Well, you can.
How?
It’s easy. Just check out the projects run by the SRC on this page and get in contact with the SVSS Coordinator on the first floor of the John McIntyre Building.
Support – What can we do to help?
Lots.
- Disclosure: If you’re working with children or vulnerable adults, you’ll have to become a member of the PVG scheme – but fear not, all you have to do is fill in the form. We’ll do the rest.
- Training: We’re on-hand to provide you with all the training and support you’ll need to succeed.
- Travel Expenses: We’ll pay ‘em.
NEW PROJECT Girl Guiding
For the new year we are launching a new programme with Girl Guiding Scotland. If you want to help out but don’t have time during the day this is the perfect opportunity for you as all the groups meeting in the evening. There are three groups Rainbows (aged 5-7), Brownies (aged 7-10) and Guides (aged 10-15).
You can either become and informal helper or take part in the Guiding Leadership scheme which you can take with you anywhere in the world!
NEW PROJECT Macmillan Cancer Support
Working in partnership with West Dunbartonshire Council, Macmillan are looking for volunteers to support someone affected by cancer. You will provide emotional, social and practical support tailored to the needs of those receiving the service.
