Mature Student Bursary Fund

The University of Glasgow Settlement offers a limited number of Mature Student Bursaries during the academic year. Because of the limited funds available via the Mature Student Bursary, it will be assumed that applicants have taken all reasonable steps to obtain all other funds for which they may be eligible such as Student Loans Company Ltd Loans; HEI Hardship Funds, University of Glasgow Hardship Fund, Mature Childcare Funds, bank overdrafts, Professional or Private Loans etc. before applying.

Purpose of the Fund

The Settlement Bursary Fund is administered by the University of Glasgow Settlement. Its purpose is to provide assistance with living expenses, NOT tuition fees, for students permanently domiciled in the Greater Glasgow area. A number of small bursaries will be awarded in 2011/2012. Bursaries may be paid during terms 1 & 2 by bank transfer.

Eligibility

A mature student is defined as one over the age of 21 at the beginning of their degree. Only full or part-time matriculated undergraduate students at the University of Glasgow are eligible. Students attending under the Junior Year Abroad Scheme, or other exchange schemes, are not eligible to apply.
