Environmental Club
The Environmental Club are an exciting new group at Glasgow University. They aim to provide students with the opportunity to volunteer in their local community, right here in Glasgow during term time. They organise monthly conservation events in the local Hillhead area working with the local City Council. There maybe an opportunity in the future to do some mentoring working with a local primary school in the area.
The Environmental Club also takes part in nationwide student activist campaigns with a green agenda. In February 2011 the Environmental Club will be working with a whole host of national and Glasgow University student societies to put on the biggest and the best environmental event Glasgow University has seen, Go Green week. Go Green week events will include a big green debate with special guest speakers, a campaign to use less plastic bags on campus, a non-electronic music event and much more.
