Find a Solution 2011
2011 saw Find a Solution enter it’s fourth year and it proved to be as popular as ever with high demand from both students and host organisations.
New Rhythms for Glasgow
The students who were appointed to New Rhythms for Glasgow were asked to evaluate the “Music-workshops for Families” project. This is a community-based music organisation that aims to inspire positive social change and enrich lives in North Glasgow through high-quality, innovative and challenging music activities. They made a thorough investigation of the work been done and offered solutions of a theoretical and practical nature which NRFG will be able to use in reaching, engaging and helping more hard to reach families.
Bridging The Gap
This ecumenical project in the Gorbals area of Glasgow welcomed the 2 students to evaluate the services available and find where there were still gaps in provision.
The interviews that they conducted concluded that the residents of the Gorbals and Oatlands were happy with the services that Bridging the Gap were providing but would welcome addition provision if it were possible, such as a youth club, transport for the elderly and help and a drop in centre for those with addiction problems. This information is invaluable to those running the project who did not have time to stand back and evaluate objectively the services that they were providing.
