Jobshop

Jobshop is a Student Employment Service at Glasgow University run by the Students’ Representative Council.

Man doing some work in an office.

We aim to provide students with access to a wide range of full-time, part-time, casual and seasonal work in and around Glasgow and further a field. As well as advertising for external employers we often advertise vacancies on behalf of the University.

These vacancies will not only allow students to earn extra money but will also help them to gain new transferable skills or enhance qualities they already possess. The service is free of charge to both students and employers. Details of all current vacancies can be found by clicking on the link at the top of this page. The latest jobs posted are displayed below.

Vacancies are posted one working day after they are received and reviewed. For employers who are unable to advertise vacancies electronically please contact us. Please note: after 3 months adverts will be removed. If your vacancy is on-going please let us know, we will then be able to email you after the 3 months to let you know you can re-post your advert.

Please remember that the SRC is unable to verify whether any job is genuine, as we are unable to vet companies or employers. So you will have to check this for yourself. Always arrange to meet with a prospective employer in a public place, and let someone know you are going to meet them. And always make sure you get your employer’s name and address, and remember to check out the location of the place of work in advance, to make sure of the safest way to travel there and back. For more practical advice on employment rights and tips, please see our employment advice pages. If you suspect that an advert on Jobshop is not genuine, please report it to us at enquiries@src.gla.ac.uk
