Samaritans is available 24 hours a day to provide confidential emotional support for people who are experiencing feelings of distress or despair, including those which may lead to suicide.

Citizens Advice Bureau – general advice

Shelter Scotland – housing advice

Shelter provides a free, national telephone advice line staffed by trained housing advisers.
To contact Shelter’s Helpline, call 0808 800 4444 (lines are open 8am to midnight).
For online advice the Shelter website has lots of good information.

Legal Services Agency

LSA particularly concentrates on housing, asylum, mental health and social welfare law generally but also deals with other areas of the law. More information can be found on their website http://www.lsa.org.uk
