Social, economic and environmental sustainability
As part of its ongoing campaigns, the SRC is striving to promote sustainable development and you can have your say: a group has been established to campaign on sustainability issues – get involved!
Sustainability Group
The SRC Sustainability Group was set up in 2006 with a specific motion to bring together Unions, Societies and Students to campaign on issues of sustainable development, including social, economic and environmental issues. Any student can join, and societies can send a representative.
Activities
The Group has already campaigned on climate change issues, improved recycling facilities, and looked at the possibility of allowing students to use double-sided printing for assignments, amongst other successfully ran campaigns. Some details are below; more is in the minutes. For current activities, use the navigation menu to the left!
When?
Our next ordinary meeting is scheduled for Wednesday 14th November from 5.00-6.30pm in the Williams Room, John McIntyre Building, University Avenue. If you need help finding the building or room before you arrive, contact Struan Campbell at the e-mail address shown below.
