Glasgow student publications dominated the 2008 edition of the Herald’s Scottish Student Press Awards. The SRC media were awarded:
- Student Newspaper of the Year – GU Guardian
- Student Magazine of the Year – Glasgow University Magazine
- Student Journalist of the Year, Best Newswriter and Highly Commended Features Writer – Chris Watt (GU Guardian)
- Best Photographer – James Porteous (GU Guardian)
