Welcome to Glasgow University Model United Nations Society. We are a student run debate group which seeks to promote diplomatic discussions and resolution writing. The aim of our society is to educate students about diplomatic procedures and conduct, develop debating and public speaking skills and increase confidence while in debate. We also hope that through debate and representation, we increase our members’ understanding of current affairs and introduce different perspectives on issues at hand.

Despite the high-sounding aims, GlaMUN is a group of friendly, approachable people, who enjoy arguing political rhetoric in pubs (to their own great embarrassment) and cake. We try to maintain a supportive, relaxed environment and structured debate. We also attend MUN conferences both nationally and internationally. We hold weekly debates on Mondays at 18.15 in the Boyd Orr Building (room tba), so, if you are interested, come to our next session and meet us and remember, participation in debate is voluntary, so no need to be intimidated by it.
