Chivalric Dream Society
The Glasgow University Chivalric Dream Society is a society devoted to teaching medieval crafts and unchoreographed steel combat. It combines romantic re-enactment with a subjunctive history theme with real knowledge and a role playing aspect allowing members to discover talents that today’s world would never allow them to dream that they possessed. We have weekly meetings on a thursday evening and at least once a month we have a weekend intensive training session which often involves armouring and other crafts followed by combat training in the park for those who wish to become armoured competitors. Throughout the year there are fundraisers, camps and projects for members to participate in which allow them to test their new skills. So if you have ever wondered what it felt like to be a knight or how people lived in the past or if you just enjoy drinking the best meade on campus then please feel free to contact us and come along to a meeting and let the dream begin.
