Rector Election 2011
There are two candidates standing for election to be Rector of the University of Glasgow 2011-2014. They are the author and comedian A.L. Kennedy, and the politician the Rt Hon Charles Kennedy MP.
The schedule for the election is as follows:
* 16 February – Rectorial Hustings
Come down to the Debates Chamber on Wednesday 16th February for 1730 to see the two candidates in 2011 Rectorial Election, tell you why they want your vote in the Rectorial Election. They’’ll be taking questions from the floor, so put your thinking caps on and get ready to quiz them.
* 21st & 22nd February – Voting Open
Between 9am on monday 21st – 5pm tuesday the 22nd, voting in the election for rector will be open. Voting takes place online, and doesn’’t require you to use a computer on campus- you simply need your University login details and an internet connection. The link for voting will be widely advertised as soon as polls open.
* 22nd February – Election Results Announced
The result of the election will be announced 5pm in the Robing Room (Gilbert Scott Building).
* 18th or 19th of April – These are the provisional dates for the ceremony to install the new Rector.
