Convenors and Representatives
Faculty Convenors
Faculty Convenors convene their respective Faculty Committees, co-ordinate the course reps in their Faculty and convene at least two meetings a year with the student reps to find out their concerns and to relay information passed on from Council and their own committee to student reps. Convenors (or a nominated delegate) also attend Senate and Faculty meetings and committees which they are invited to.
Postgraduate Students’ Convenor
The Postgraduates’ Convenor convenes the Postgraduate Committee, works with Faculty Convenors to communicate with course reps and attends meetings of Senate and the University’s Research Planning & Strategy Committee for postgraduate research matters if he/she is a postgraduate research student. Their support comes primarily from the Vice-President (Learning & Development).
General Representatives
These are elected by the whole student body, and are without portfolio. They assist Convenors, Officers and the Executive in carrying out the work of Council and may be elected to a range of SRC and University committees.
There are nine General Reps, two of which must be First Year students and two Postgraduate students.
