Welfare & Equal Opportunities Officers
The Welfare & Equal Opportunities Officers each look after particular groups within the student body or particular areas of the SRC’s work such as charities or the environment. They are all members of the SRC Welfare & Equal Opportunities Committee and are supported by the Vice-President (Student Support).
Charities Officer – Sarah Tomlinson
Convenes the SRC Charities Committee. She is responsible for raising funds for charity and organising a Rag Week.
International Students’ Officer – Vacant Seat
Works to promote and address the concerns of all international students in the University. Is responsible for organising international students’ awareness events.
Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Students’ Officer – Mark Scott
Works to promote and address the concerns of all lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender matriculated students. Is responsible for organising LGBT awareness events.
Mature Students’ Officer – Jennifer Wightwick
Works to promote and address the concerns of all mature matriculated students.
Part Time Students’ Officer – Howard Dickson
Works to promote and address the concerns of all part-time matriculated students.
Minority Ethnic Officer – Lucille Harvey
Works to promote and address the concerns of all matriculated students who are affected by issues of race or ethnicity, and to promote racial equality on campus generally.
Students’ with Disabilities Officer – George Twizell
Works to promote and address the concerns of all disabled students at the University and awareness of their needs generally.
Women’s Interests Officer – Laura Jones
Works to promote and address the concerns of all female matriculated students. Is responsible for organising women’s health and welfare awareness events.
