Time flies – it seems that just last week we were enjoying the last bits of summer, and here it is upon us again. This means that Freshers' Week 2015 is not far either! Have you looked at the people in blue t-shirts last year and wondered how you can join the Freshers' Week fun? Now is your chance!
The SRC Student Volunteer Support Service is pleased to announce a new initiative to connect University of Glasgow students with local organisations that provide volunteering opportunities. Working together with the Library, we will be offering organisations and student clubs and societies a stall space to promote their work. To book this space contact [email protected].
Less than half of 18-24 year olds voted in the last General Election in 2010 and total turnout was only 65.1%. Big decisions on employment, housing and living costs are being made without you. Politicians target their policies to those that vote. Registering to vote online takes around 5 minutes.
Volunteering, Clubs and Societies Awards this year were extremely popular – we got over 200 nominations for 10 different award categories. At the event ceremony, we celebrated the achievements of clubs and societies and volunteers on campus with performances from the Kelvin Ensemble, Contemporary Musicians United, KSoc and Pole dancing club.
