The GUSRC Executive 2014/15 have released a letter sent to the University of Glasgow Senior Management Group to convey some of their worries for students at Glasgow moving forward. They highlight the need for solutions to the effects of over-recruitment such as the capacity of student services, accommodation & teaching facilities as well as the further delay to the GUU/Stevenson extension.
The SRC know that flathunting can be difficult and stressful. In our Fearless Flathunting campaign we will be highlighting our advice about accommodation as well as the pitfalls to avoid when hunting for your new student digs. We'll discuss what to look for, what to avoid and how to protect yourself.
With that in mind there are a couple of collections at the SRC at the moment for if you’d like to contribute any stuff you’ve got lying around or anything you are going to needlessly bin. As well as this being your good deed for the day; helping somebody else out, whether it’s in Malawi or Glasgow, you are also helping the environment by reducing your waste size.
The issues regarding the Glasgow Uni Spotted pages have previously been raised to the SRC and as a result we have been in contact with the Library, Security and the University's Communications Office throughout the year. The administrator of this page has been contacted by the University on more than one occasion. If the activity on this page continues in a similar vein then the University has agreed to take more serious action. It should also be noted that Facebook allows individuals to report content should you wish to. (more…)
The SRC have been working with Estates & Buildings in order to compile this list of study spaces alternative to the Library, which can be incredibly busy at this time of year. Please respect the restrictions on the spaces that are available to only certain students. (more…)
